Humans vs Zombies (HvZ) is a club dedicated to the ever so intoxicating idea of the world’s trial by zombies. Throughout each semester, each meeting can be a number of different activities, all leading up to a week-long apocalypse. Until that event, meetings can range from general discussions to manhunt and capture the flag.

During our apocalypse, a patient zero, lovingly nicknamed the “O.Z.”, is chosen by the Executive Board. In the following days, the O.Z. must tag to infect the humans trying to survive, but beware, hunting hours for the zombies start early in the morning and end in the evening. Aside from some necessary rules in regard to safety, almost anything is fair game in the apocalypse.

Whether it’s walking to class, the dining center, or most anywhere on campus, nowhere is safe during the apocalypse – except of course inside buildings and if you are in an emergency.

Each semester, the theme and story of the big apocalypse game is crafted by the eboard to be something unique and special. One year the theme was inspired heavily by “The Walking Dead’s” theme of “Humans vs Humans vs Zombies.” Another year, it might be themed around controlling and eradicating the infection.

This semester, HvZ will meet in Robert Frost 211 from 7-8 p.m. on Mondays. In the past, HvZ began as a family and continues to be one big family, despite our constant evolution. Humans vs Zombies is a warm and welcoming community of enthusiastic students that love new members just as much as we love zombies.
