MANSFIELD, MA – Junior Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women’s basketball team was chosen as the Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 26, the conference office announced Monday.
Lorenzen registered 19.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game, while shooting 44.4 percent (12-27) from the field and a perfect 13-for-13 from the stripe, in a 2-0 week for the Penmen. Lorenzen posted 23 points (7-18 FG, 8-8 FT) and eight boards in a 68-64 overtime victory against Merrimack College on Tuesday and then added 15 points (5-9 FG, 5-5 FT), nine rebounds and two assists in Sunday’s 76-59 triumph over Felician University.
Lorenzen currently leads the league in free throws made (34), ranks third in scoring (18.0 ppg), fourth in field goals made (36), fifth in free throw percentage (.872) and seventh in rebounding (9.0 rpg).
Lorenzen and the Penmen return to action Wednesday, Nov. 29 (5:30 p.m.) when they take on Saint Anselm College at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium in a game that will air live on WGIR 610-AM. SNHU is back home Saturday, Dec. 2 (1:30 p.m.) when it plays host to Assumption College at the Fieldhouse, with the contest being broadcast on FOX College Sports.

Walters averaged a double-double of 27.0 points and 10.0 rebounds during a 2-0 week for the Penmen, while adding 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per contest, and shooting 60 percent (21-35) from the floor. Walters registered 27 points (11-20 FG), 11 rebounds and four assists in an 84-79 overtime victory against 24th-ranked Merrimack College on Tuesday and followed that up with 27 points (10-15 FG, 1-2 3-FG), nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks in a 73-57 win against Felician University on Sunday.
Walters leads the conference in rebounding (9.5 rpg), blocks per game (2.3) and free throws made (40), while ranking second in steals per contest (2.7), third in scoring (22.7 ppg) and fourth in field goals made (46).
