SNHU wellness days are dates throughout the semester that Southern New Hampshire University allows students to catch up on missing work, mental health, or just giving time back to the students. These dates are usually around midterms or finals and allows students to debrief the work they have done so far and catch up on what they need.
Offices and services will remain open and will be available to students, just no scheduled classes.
This semester SNHU has wellness days on Thursday, February 8 and Friday, February 9. There will be no classes on these dates, there will be special events surrounding mental health this week and during the wellness days.
The first wellness event starts on Tuesday, February 6 with a HelpU Webinar: Building Your Self Care Tool Kit. Participants will learn effective strategies to help reduce stress through breathing. There is a link for registration on the Penmen Weekly events email from February 5.
Wednesday, February 7 there is a Wellness Wednesday event on sexual health in the Deborah L. Coffin Women’s Center located in the Green center from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
On Thursday, February 8th, there are no classes but there is mindful meditation at 1:00 p.m. in the Interfaith prayer room located in the student center. Also, a wellbeing activates table in the student center’s lobby from 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m.
On Friday, February 9, there is again no scheduled classes for this day. The events on this day start with National Pizza Day in the dining center. There will be filing income tax assistance in the Webster hall lobby from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
SNHU E-sports is having a Super Smash Bros Tournament from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the Corcoran conference room located in the student center.
Lastly, a paint, pub and sip event in the last chapter pub located in the Last chapter Pub in the student center from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
