The Career Development Center hosted the Internship and Job Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 17. For three hours, the second floor of the Dining Center was crowded with 716 students and 65 employers, all having great conversations about a variety of employment and internship opportunities. For the first half hour, there was a line of students out the door waiting to meet with these potential employers for upcoming internships and full-time openings.
Once inside, students were greeted by friendly and familiar faces from the Career Development Center and given a packet listing all of the employers and their descriptions.
Several employers from companies including Target, Fidelity, Sherwin Williams, and Kohl’s were impressed with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) students, saying that many students were well dressed, enthusiastic, prepared, and engaged in their conversations. One recruiter from Fidelity said that among many other schools she had been to for job fairs, the SNHU Internship & Job fair was among the best she had attended.
Many students were pleased with the event as well. Social Media Marketing and COCE student Will Montembault thought the timing of the Internship & Job fair was perfect. He was happy with the employers he spoke with, and he thought the spring timing was great for all students, especially those who are graduating in May and for those seeking meaningful employment or internships for the summer.
Undergraduate student Paige Letendre said, “I’m about to graduate soon and I’m looking for full-time work. I originally thought the fair was mostly just going to have internships and I almost didn’t go, but I figured I should since it said it was a ‘job’ fair too. I’m really glad I went because there were plenty of full-time openings, not just internships.”
