Junior Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) registered a double-double and classmate Aaliyah Paxton (Hainseport, N.J.) reached a season-high in points to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women’s basketball team to a 74-53 non-conference win against Nyack College on Saturday Afternoon at Bowman Gym.
Lorenzen recorded a team-best 11 points (4-8 FG, 3-4 FT), 12 rebounds and four assists, while Paxton reached double figures for the first time this season with 10 points (4-4 FG, 2-2 FT) and a pair of boards.

Southern New Hampshire jumped out to a 6-0 lead on 3-pointers from freshman Sarah Deyo (Attleboro, Mass.) and junior Brianna Camara (Fall River, Mass.) before an 8-0 counter-run – bookended by Brown buckets – gave Nyack what would be its only lead of the game at 8-6 with 5:13 to go in the opening quarter.
A three-point play from Lorenzen at the 4:51 mark handed SNHU the lead for good and triggered a 15-2, quarter-ending blitz that made it 21-10. Sophomore Victoria Dean (Plymouth, Mass.) contributed six points on a pair of treys during the stretch, while Paxton added four points.
After a Brown free throw opened the second-stanza scoring just over a minute in, the Penmen ran off 14 straight points to stretch their lead to 35-11 with 3:15 remaining before halftime. Freshman Gyanna Russell (E. Hampton, Conn.) led the way with six points, while Paxton added four.
Nyack then made its first field goal of the second quarter at the 3:01 mark before Southern New Hampshire capped the half with a 9-3 run – with four points from Lorenzen and three from sophomore Molly Terry (Shrewsbury, Mass.) – to make it 44-17.
Nyack opened the third quarter with a 5-2 spurt before the Penmen ripped off a 19-6 run, which featured seven different scorers, and sent them to the final frame with their largest lead of the afternoon at 65-28. Terry highlighted the stretch with a pair of triples.
With the gap at 35 midway through the fourth quarter, Nyack ended the game with a 17-3 barrage – with 12 points from Brown – to bring the score to its final resting place.
