Since 2016, SNHU has been hosting the Out of the Darkness Walk Fundraiser. Held in honor of Nick Carey, a Southern New Hampshire University student, this year is the 10-year anniversary. Salma El Amrani is in her second year chairing for the event and has expressed her passion for the event and what it represents. “To see so many people come together just to talk and share something so personal is incredibly inspiring” (Salma EL Amrani ’26).
Supported by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP,) the Out of the Darkness Walk was the 9th top campus fundraiser in the country last year, raising over $25,000, and one of only three fundraisers to receive donations from the university’s President’s Office. This year, the event will be held on Saturday, March 28th at 9:00 a.m. on the Green Space (Hospitality Salon if raining) and is open to the entire community. For more information or if you are interested in volunteering or participating in this event, please reach out to The Chandler Center at serve@snhu.edu
