On behalf of the Penmen Press, it was with our great pleasure to accept the Scott W. Caswell Outstanding Student Organization Award at last night’s Leadership Awards Banquet. Our staff has worked tirelessly throughout the year — summer, winter and spring break included — to fulfill our mission of writing SNHU’s story.

We are honored to be recognized for the work we put into this paper we love so much, and we want everyone to know that none of what we do could be possible without the other student leaders and organizations on campus, who bring so much to the table.

Collaboration is an integral aspect of our responsibilities as student journalists. With the extensive network of people our 50 active members carry, we never find difficulty coming up with stories to report.

As always, it was an honor to attend the 2018 Leadership Awards Banquet. As the end of the year comes closer and closer, we become increasingly exhilarated by this amazing opportunity to recognize and celebrate the hard work and achievements of all of the clubs, organizations and student leaders on our campus that have worked tirelessly and diligently all year.

We would like to thank everyone who has poured their hearts into student leadership, as well as send off the graduating seniors who have dedicated their undergraduate career to making SNHU a better place.

For those who were unable to attend, here is the list of individuals, groups and organizations who were recognized last night:

Peer Advising Leader of the Year – Justin Tersliner

Outstanding Peer Educator of the Year – Kaitlin Tetreault

Most Improved Organization Award – Media and Design Club and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

Excellence in Programming Award – Generation Equality (Fourth Annual Drag Show)

Synergy Award – Culinary Student Association

Louisa M. Martin Advisor of the Year Award – Athena Adair (Generation Equality)

Social Impact Award – Men’s Group

Emerging Leadership – Tori DeVita

Unsung Hero Award – Justin Terlisner

Organizational Academic Achievement Award – Sport Management Club

Student leadership is difficult, and the time and effort often goes unnoticed. No one sees the 3 a.m. group chats or the frantic planning, only the final products, polished events and the successes of our organizations. We extend our sincerest thanks and gratitude to every student leader for everything you do.

Congratulations to all the clubs, organizations and student leaders who took home awards last night, and thank you to the Office of Student Involvement for providing each of these groups a place where they can do what they love.
