Epic Game’s “Fortnite” was released on Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC and Mac on July 25, 2017. On March 8 2018, Epic Games also announced the launch of the game on mobile, focusing on iPhone first. “Fortnite” is a battle royale where 100 players can compete against one another. The game has three types of gameplay including Solo, Duo, and Squads. This simply means that each one allows you to play with more or less friends.

Since the game’s takeoff, there’s been nothing but constant ground-breaking news. The game has appeared on national television at least twice, touching on both positive and negative talking points. Epic Games has decided to take on the challenge to get “Fortnite” on mobile so everyone can access it and play. So far, the only way to get into the beta for mobile is to receive a key or invite from a friend.

In addition to an agreement that was made with Sony, the mobile version of the game will also have cross-platform play between Mac, Xbox One, PC and Playstation 4. Epic has released a statement that beta testing for Android will come in the next few months. Sign ups began on March 12 of this year to get into the mobile beta. They’ve also set it up so that those who make it into the beta are met with a key to share with a friend. Now, even though the game is cross-platform between Playstation, Mac, PC and now mobile, it is not cross-platform between Playstation 4 and Xbox.

In terms of getting the game up and running on mobile for Android, the reason as to why it’s taking so long is most likely due to the number of Android devices altogether. Unlike iOS devices, Androids cover a multitude of different phones including but not limited to Samsung and HTC. Epic wants to take the time to be able to cover all of these devices, so everyone can enjoy the game on mobile regardless of what smartphone they’re using. “Fortnite Mobile” currently supports all of the most up to date iOS devices, ranging from the iPhone X and iPad Pro, all the way back to the iPhone SE.

“Fortnite” is taking over the gaming world and is extending a hand to anyone and everyone to play on whatever they like.
