The Study Abroad Program at SNHU strives to provide students with the opportunity to travel the globe while continuing their education. This program works diligently to create partnerships with various countries, and as of now, SNHU has welcomed students to study in continents including Europe, South America and Asia.

Recently, SNHU has created a new partnership with Peter The Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, located in Russia. This new destination was officially finalized in November of 2017.

“It took around two years, and different meetings at the annual International Education Conference (NAFSA),” said Stefano Parenti, director of the Study Abroad Program.

The partnership was created to give SNHU students the opportunity to develop new perspectives on the world around them. The Study Abroad Office hopes that with the inclusion of Russia, students can embrace differences among countries and develop their educational outlook within the changing world.

“We continue to dream for a world of peace, freedom and inclusivity, founded on more awareness. We believe that, unfortunately,  most of the Western mainstream gives a “daily” false and propagandistic representation of [Russia],” said Parenti. “Study[ing] abroad at St. Petersburg is a concrete way to go above and beyond this narrative, the not-inclusive-idea of ‘comfort zone.’ To open a real window on this important part of the world. To give to our community and the students an opportunity… to build ‘bridges’ and get other perspectives rather than to be just a silent spectator.”

Peter The Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University has also been noted as one of the most prestigious universities in the country of Russia. High esteem is placed in the subjects of Economics, Humanities, and Engineering.

Offered as a summer program, students are encouraged to attend the one to four-week exploration into the country of Russia where they can learn more about the city and its unique history.
