Some people might be asking themselves, what exactly is the Career & Professional Development Center and how does it help me? The Career & Professional Development Center is a resource that students can access by visiting the Gustafson Center.

The Career Center helps students by giving them the resources they need to make sure that they succeed in the professional world during and after college. Students can meet with career counselors to help them develop their resume, improve their LinkedIn profile, prepare them for interviews, help them with internship searches, as well as job searches, improve networking skills, career coaching, graduate school guidance and career assessments.

If students do not know what area they would like to go into the counselors at the Career Center can help with that too. They can go through a student’s options and help the student see exactly what path they would like to take on their career adventure.

In order to see counselors there are two ways; the easiest way is to make an appointment with the Career Center by calling 603-645-9793. Or, one can simply walk in during a counselor’s walk-in hours for quick questions. Walk-in hours are Monday-Friday 2:00p.m.-3:30p.m.

First year students will most likely have to visit the Career Center for either their SNHU 101 class or SB 100 for degree in three students. During one’s first year at SNHU, the Career Center will help one develop their resume, business cards and a general direction of what they want to do after college.

The Career Development Center also posts tips and tricks on CareerEdge that one can check out if they want to learn more about what they do and how to improve one’s skills in the business world.

The Career Center also works a lot with SNHU Recruit, which is a website offered to SNHU students where they can upload their resume, apply for jobs and internships and look for professional connections.

The Career Center will also be hosting several events throughout the year including resume workshops, networking events, the career expo, various panels and LinkedIn training sessions.

Feel free to stop by and check out The Career & Professional Development Center anytime you have a question, need some help, or just want to check it out to see what they are all about.
