Generation Equality is SNHU’s on-campus LGBTQ+ advocacy group and social club. We’re made up of a mixture of students, faculty, and staff who view equality as a priority regardless of whether or not they identify within the LGBTQ+ community or as an ally. If that sounds like you, join Generation Equality today!

Our mission is to advocate for and support a culture of equality and inclusion on SNHU’s campus. We accomplish this through hosting educational, entertaining programming and modeling an equal and inclusive environment in our weekly meetings.

Our regular programming consists of a variety of fun and informative events throughout the year, most notably our spring semester lip-sync Drag Show. This is a night in February where student performers take the stage and lip sync their hearts out to a supportive and enthusiastic audience in the Pub. We are always looking for new performers, so contact us if you’re interested!

We hold meetings on Thursdays at 5 p.m. in the Women’s Center, where our members are free to express their unique selves, engage in meaningful conversations, and educate themselves and others on issues pertinent to the LGBTQ+ community. Meeting times are usually focused on getting to know club members and debriefing the past week, and we have occasional sessions dedicated to specific topics like being LGBTQ+ in the workforce or understanding identity fluidity.

This semester, we’re focusing on building a community within our club. We want members of Generation Equality to feel like they are part of an accepting and loving family on campus. We also have a brand new space in the Office of Diversity Programs that is free for our club members to use to grab a snack, get work done, or just hang out with their friends. Come visit us whenever you’d like!
