The SNHU Student Chapter of OMEP, the World Organization for Early Childhood, is a child advocacy club that is dedicated to defending and promoting the rights of the child to education and care worldwide.

While OMEP is an international organization, SNHU OMEP focuses on the needs of the children in and around the Manchester area.

OMEP meets on the first Tuesday of every month in Robert Frost 229 at 3:30 p.m.

SNHU OMEP is a relatively new addition to campus, but in past semesters the club has put together first aid kits and delivered them to a homeless shelter, symbolized what it is like to be homeless in a poverty simulation, and made holiday cards for children at a local shelter, among other events and activities.

The OMEP executive board had the opportunity to present at OMEP’s Regional World Conference in Atlanta, Georgia this past February  and was asked by OMEP-USA’s president to present at a Symposium in Belize in January 2018. The executive board members are looking forward to the possibility of traveling to Belize to meet more professionals from around the world and bring back new ideas to campus. In addition to our potential trip to Belize, we are hoping to continue to plan and organize a number of on campus events. Specifically, we are looking forward to collaborating with other clubs on campus as well as organizing more simulations while continuing our efforts to help out those children in need in the Manchester community through food/supply drives and volunteering with different programs.

We hope to see a lot of new faces at our first meeting of the semester where you’ll have the opportunity to tie dye your very own SNHU OMEP member shirt!
