There are many things the microwave can do besides heating up leftover food and making popcorn.  With the magic of the microwave, saving time and making tasty food is possible for everyone, even those who have limited experiences in the kitchen. It is useful to learn some microwave tricks for college students – meals, afternoon tea, midnight snacks, ANYTIME!

Oil-free fried rice:

To make this meal it will need prepared cooked rice, so you can do it when you have some left over.

First, cut up one hot dog, a mushrooms and some green onions and put them in a microwavable container with rice and stir well. Cover the container and let it heat up in the microwave for 2 minutes, 600W.

Then, in a separate container, mix a pinch of salt, a tablespoon of water and a well-stirred egg pulp which will then be added into the container. Stir them well together. Wrap the container again and cook in the microwave for 1 minute, 600W.

Remove the wrapping paper and dinner is ready! This recipe makes a healthy meal.

Ramen with Cheese and Egg:

Pour hot water in the Chow Mein ramen and let it stay for three minutes. Then, remove the hot water and stir well with the seasoning powder and put them in a safe container.

Next, add an egg and put shredded cheese on it. Then cook in the microwave for 3 minutes. The food can be very hot so be careful when taking it out.

Chocolate Cake:

Add an egg, 4 tablespoons of Nutella and ½ tablespoon of cocoa powder in a regular mug. Stir to combine.

Cook in the microwave for 90 seconds, set the microwave power to medium high. Then let it cool down for 15 minutes and sprinkle with powdered sugar; serve warm.

With these recipes, students are able to make food easily. Feel free to explore and be creative to make some food with your new ideas. But always be sure to eat a balanced diet with various natural food like vegetables and fruits.
