On Thursday, Oct. 27, the Office of Student Involvement (OSI) at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) hosted the very first It’s Gonna be Lit event in the Last Chapter Pub.

The event began at 8 p.m. welcoming students into the pub for a literally lit evening. The event was made possible due to Student Involvement along with the Marketing and Events Manager of the Last Chapter Pub.

The event provided students with a variety of activities that they could participate in throughout the night. Students could enjoy an assortment of snacks, games, and entertainment while socializing with their friends on Halloween weekend.

The lights were dimmed and the pub became lit with glow in the dark games and accessories. Light-up hula-hoops, neon Jenga, Uno and illuminated Play-doh were just a few activities present at the event. Students who attended were also put in a raffle for the chance to win a lava lamp.

Snacks consisted of Gushers, Ring Pops, Airheads, Pringles and Rice Krispies Treats. The original “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” featuring the infamous Freddy Krueger, was projected on the big screen for students to watch as they ate and socialized.

Samantha Chery, Marketing and Events Manager, organized this event. “We wanted to have a lit environment, play a movie, and get some really cool snacks and games [for students] who come to the pub and hangout on Halloween weekend,” said Chery.

First year students, Molly Carson, Christina Cruz, Samantha Struzzier, and Nick Vonschantz-Ricci said, “Our favorite part was the free food and we’d come back next year.”

OSI plans on hosting the event again next semester for students that want another lit night at the Last Chapter Pub.
