Robotics Club Spotlight

The Southern New Hampshire University Robotics Team recently surpassed its first anniversary, having started the club in the spring semester of 2023.

The Robotics Club executive board is made up of four members with Joseph Sedutto as President, Brandon Sawyer as Vice President, Matthew MacDonald as Treasurer, and David Brideau as Secretary.

One of the previous events the Robotics Club has been a part of is Habocon, an introduction event to robotics where students can freely make robots with different parts and have them battle each other. They also hosted the showing of Oppenheimer on campus for a movie night.

The Robotics Team is also hoping to attend IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) for a Micromouse competition in New York later in the semester.

Some upcoming events include a giant 16×16 LED cube being displayed in the CETA building starting mid-April for all to enjoy. The club is also planning a Micromaze event, where the students can build small moving robotic mice from scrap parts to solve a maze. There will be more to come about this event in the future.

The Robotics Club is a safe space for students who are interested in robotics, soldering, and coding, to come and learn more about it. The Robotics Club is open to all levels of knowledge, as advanced robotics and coding students are excited to help new students in the club.

The club’s goal is to build a community of friends and give a space for people to openly explore more about robotics.

The club meets on Mondays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in room 107 of the CETA building for general membership meetings and on Fridays from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Annex Machine Lab for hands-on building.
