The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the largest association devoted to human resource management. There are more than 250,000 members nationwide. This organization is highly beneficial for business majors, especially those students in Human Resources (HR) including, but not limited to recruiting (sales), employee relations, training and development, compensation and benefits analysis and more.
Nearly 70% of jobs are found through personal contacts or networking, and SHRM can play a large role in making these connections
In the past, we have hosted dinners at the Quill, where SHRM club members network with HR professionals called “A Seat at the Table.” We have also toured HR facilities and met with HR professionals. Another event we have hosted is having a panel of HR professionals who come on campus to speak with students about careers in HR.
This year, we want to add onto these events some community service work!
We will have our monthly meetings posted at the Involvement Fair, so come on by to speak with us! For more information, please reach out to Dr. Chris Blais, advisor (c.blais1@snhu.edu) or SHRM President Tyler Pascucci (tyler.pascucci@snhu.edu)
